2026: The Wheel of Fortune
Stepping into a new cycle requires us to step out of the old. In Numerology, 2026 is a 10 year (or a 1 year). This speaks to both endings and beginnings. In tarot, the 10 card is The Wheel of Fortune; the 1, The Magician. I have been leaning toward thinking of 2026 as a Wheel of Fortune year but I’m starting to truly see the connection of The Magician in this cycle as well. As me and my friends like to say, “it’s always both”.
Every ending is the beginning of an initiation. What’s stopping you from walking through that initiation? It’s a good time now, as always, to let go of fears and perceived limitations. This will make it easier to take the leap. Transformation is often a painful and vulnerable process. Stepping into the unknown (trying new things) is scary but if we didn’t do it, we wouldn’t learn much. 2026 is going to be a year that rewards those of us who are willing to take risks. I will talk about this more later.
Recently I’ve been thinking of The Wheel of Fortune as a cycle of stepping into authenticity and re-learning authenticity when we inevitably find we’ve stepped away from it again. When we are embodied in ourselves and making decisions that are in alignment with our greatest good, we can feel on top of the world! Then we experience change. This could just be a new day, an overwhelming emotion, or even an underwhelming emotion. We find ourselves drifting away from what feels authentic or in our best interest. This is how so many of us learn. We need contrast in order to know what does feel right.
This is going to be a year for trial and error, ups and downs, “good luck” and “bad luck”, alignment and misalignment. The best we can do is ride the waves and try to integrate what we’re learning. This is where memory starts to become muscle memory. What was once completely new to us becomes second nature. This is also where I believe the manifestation and reality building of The Magician come in. With this 10-1 combo, those who will see results will be the ones who ride the wheel; who know that feeling crushed (disillusionment) is a part of the initiation process.
